Omega Sharp:

About Us

Omega Sharp's name comes from ω, where ω is the last letter of greek alphabet and is the musical sharp. Many of our scientific products make use of the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology and first, second and third harmonic signals are the key signatures. The name was also inspired by the idea of C#.

Our experts cover the fields of Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informational Technology. Our cross-dicipline nature makes us the ultimate problem solvers for your specific needs.

Our first product is a computer controlled USB thermoelectric measurement system using 2ω technology. We believe such a precision measurement system can be made very affordable and easy to operate.

Our second product is a integrated small business management software. Yes, originally we wrote this software from scratch using Ruby on Rails (RoR) to use in our own company.

We hope the above introduction gives you an idea of our ambition and our capability. When you encount a problem, please contact us -- we may have the solution ready or can design the solutions that meet your specific needs.

About This Site

This site is powered by Ruby on Rails (RoR). Haml is used to simplify the html/rhtml coding process. Almost all tags are meaningful in this site.

You may also notice that the layout of the master design utilizes some html tables and wonder why we do not fully utilize the CSS. We feel that at this stage tables are still more robust than CSS when what we needs are "tables and columns". One very good CSS multi-column reading is "In search of the One True Layout". Thanks for Ruby on Rails and Haml, the code module is not messy at all (and the logic is preserved well, another reason to prefer CSS otherwise).
